Loogootee gets housing rehabilitation grant

The city of Loogootee has received an Owner Occupied Housing Grant from the state.  That’s the word from the Mayor’s office which announced that Southern Indiana Development Corporation (SIDC), who administers the grant application process, gave notice the city will get the funds applied for through the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority.
The program allows local governments and non-profits to apply for grant money to repair owner-occupied homes which left unattended would create issues with the integrity of  the home or become a detriment to the resident’s quality of life.
The grant will provide assistance to about 10 housing units located in Loogootee.  Letters to the individual homeowners who applied will be sent out in the next couple of weeks with information on a timeline to re-verify their application.
