No jail time for a Dubois County couple accused of locking their daughter in a cage because she was “out of control.”
Alan and Aimee Friz pleaded guilty Friday to neglect of a dependent. In exchange for their guilty pleas, the other charges against them were dropped.
The couple was arrested in October 2017 and accused of locking their daughter in a cage without access to food or water.
The couple will each serve two years’ probation.
The Dubois County Free Press reports that prosecutors commented that the plea represents a lenient resolution. However, it was offered with the input of the victim, her guardian and others working closely with her.
