We are over a week into the 2020 Election candidate filing season.
Locally there are several county offices up for election including County Recorder, Treasurer, Coronor, County Commissioner Districts 1 and 3. Also on the ballot are 3 County Council at Large positions.
As of yesterday all 3 incumbent County Council At-Large members have filed to seek re-election. They are Mike Sprinkle, Jo Ann McCracken and Kent Norris.
County Commissioner in District 1 Tom McCracken has filed to run again and he will be challenged by fellow Republican Ron Arnold in the primary. Arnold is the former Director of the Daviess County Economic Development Commission and a past Washington Community School Board member.
County Commissioner in District 3 Michael Taylor has filed to run again as has County Recorder Jamie Chapman. Chapman. Republican Rosetta Newton is on the ballot for Treasurer
Candidates wanting to be on the 2020 Election ballot have until February 7th to file for office.
