Area hospitals are putting in visitor restrictions due to the widespread outbreak of the flu.

Effective today, no visitors with flu like symptoms are allowed, no one under 15 years old are allowed to visit, and only immediate family or significant persons as defined by the patient can visit.  Of course there are exceptions for the critically and terminally ill.

If you do visit a hospital, wash your hands a lot, and wear a face mask when instructed.

Hospitals enacting these temporary restrictions in the region include; Daviess Community Hospital in Washington, Good Samaritan in Vincennes, Memorial Hospital in Jasper, and Gibson General in Princeton.
