Jackie E. Fields, 83, of Loogootee, passed away at 5:29 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Loogootee Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born February 12, 1936 in Loogootee, Indiana to the late Charles Eugene and Goldie May (Dillon) Fields.
Jackie began his career as a custodian at the age of 18. He retired from Loogootee West Elementary after 42 years of faithful employment. In Jackie’s spare time he loved to fish and was known for being quite the prankster.
He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Joyce Marie Fields and 2nd wife, Helen JoAnn Fields; daughter, Terri Lee Fields; son, Buddy Eugene Fields; parents, Charles and Goldie May Fields; siblings, Buddy Fields, LaRosa Fields and Laura Fields.
Jackie is survived by his son, Tom (Teresa) Fields of Temple Terrace, Florida; grandchildren, Dustin (Sarah) Greene, Deanna Greene, Jerad Fields and Carissa (Jared Dowdell) Fields; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Charles Fields, Carl (Betty) Fields and Delbert Fields.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Burial will follow in Scotland Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the Martin County Humane Society.
