Patricia R. “Patsy” Frye, 87, of Franklin, formerly of Odon and Loogootee passed away at 1:20 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2019 at Franciscan Health Indianapolis.
She was born April 13, 1932 in Daviess County, Indiana to the late William W. and Hazel M. (Todd) Craney.
Patsy married Harold K. Frye on September 24, 1951 and he preceded her in death January 15, 2006.
She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Franklin and the Franklin Senior Center. She also was a charter member of the Jolly Mother’s Club. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities and mushroom hunting. She loved the St. Louis Cardinals and Indiana Pacers. She was a past member of St. Martin Altar Society and a 4-H leader.
Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Harold K. Frye; infant daughter; parents, William W. and Hazel M. Craney; siblings, Marie Arvin, Margie Fegan, Donald Craney, Tommy Craney, infant twins Joseph Craney and Rita Craney, Edmond Craney, Leo Craney and Dottie Benjamin; brothers-in-law, George Abel and Dean Trowbridge.
She is survived by her children, Kenny (Susan) Frye, Ron (Sherri) Frye, Chuck Frye, all of Loogootee, Sherry (Jeff) Green of Indianapolis, Patty (Jon) Schuetz of Franklin and Jason (Dana) Frye of Bicknell; adopted daughter, Kathy Collins of Odon; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Bernadette Abel and Magdalene Trowbridge, both of Washington; many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2019 at St. Martin Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee and Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church.
