Saturday night, November 23, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Trooper Brock Buchanan was patrolling in Vincennes when he stopped the driver of a 2004 GMC Yukon for disregarding a stop sign and a railroad crossing at College Avenue and North 10th Street. The driver was identified as Dustin Taylor, 37, of Vincennes. A passenger in the vehicle originally gave Trooper Buchanan false information on her identity, but she was eventually identified as Stephanie Leifheit, 36, of Vincennes. A Vincennes Police K-9 unit arrived to assist. Officers found over 10 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Officers also discovered Leifheit had an outstanding warrant out of Illinois. Leifheit was also possessing a handgun without a permit and schedule one, two, three and four controlled substances.
