Bonnie Mae Eck passed away November 11, 2019. She was born August 24, 1936 in Washington, Indiana. She was the daughter of Gertrude and Radius Krodel. She was raised in Washington, Indiana area and her father died in 1947. Bonnie helped her mom raise her brothers, Clyde, Ray, and Carl and she also went to work early in life.
Bonnie married Eugene Eck on June 30, 1952. They moved to Xenia, Illinois where they purchased and worked on a large farm. Bonnie and Eugene had four children, Rhonda, Elaine, Eugene, and Beulah. Bonnie worked hard on the farm and she taught her children to also work hard and get along with each other. She was plagued by severe mental illness during her adulthood. When her family visited her when she was in a nursing home, Bonnie made sure the staff knew the members of her family. She was thankful for her family and loved them. She enjoyed seeing her grandsons grow and receiving photos from all her family.
Bonnie is survived by her ex-husband, Eugene, one brother, Ray, seven nieces, and a nephew. Bonnie is with her creator and at peace. All her family will miss her and always love her.
There will be a service on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Gill Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. with a visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow in Portersville Presbyterian Cemetery. You may leave an online condolence at www.gillsince1872.com
