It’s a day to thank a Veteran

It’s Veterans Day which is a time for us to pay our respects to those who have served.

The federal holiday started as a day to reflect upon the heroism of those who died in our country’s service and was originally called Armistice Day. It fell on Nov. 11.

Leslie Heschelmann is the Post Commander for the Washington VFW….

Heschellman was our guest on WAMW’s Focus on the Community this past weekend. She reminds us that we should not forget the overseas soldier’s families who are here at home.

The annual local ceremony for Veteran’s was at 11 today at the Daviess County Courthouse

To hear more from Leslie listen to this episode of Focus On The Community.
