Homer Kemp

Homer Kemp, 83, of Odon, passed away at 9:30 am Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Season’s Palliative Care and Hospice Facility in Cumming, Georgia.

He was born on January 20th, 1936 in Montgomery, Indiana to the late Neal and Alice (Stoll) Kemp.

Homer worked for the Indiana Farm Bureau Co-Op in Loogootee for many years.  After his retirement, he enjoyed working in his yard and liked spending time with his family (especially his grandchildren.)  He was a founding (charter) member of Providence Mennonite Church.

Homer was preceded in death by his parents, Neal and Alice (Stoll) Kemp; siblings, Agnes Kemp, Ora Kemp, Alva (Rosanna) Kemp, and Vernon (Tim) Kemp.

Homer is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth (Graber) Kemp of Odon; his son, Mark Kemp of Cumming, Georgia; his daughter-in-law, Amy Kemp, and his grandchildren, Grace Kemp and Matthew Kemp; 29 nieces and nephews; siblings, Melvin (Jean) Kemp of Montgomery, Dorothy (Willard) Graber of Cannelburg, June (Mel) Riegsecker of Shipshewana, Mary (Ervin) Wagler of Plainville, and Ann Ennis of Washington.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Providence Mennonite Church in Montgomery. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 15th, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Providence Mennonite Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
