The Daviess County Council had their regular October meeting Wednesday.  Council members approved additional appropriations for lease rental at the WestGate Tech Park, and for an audit of Homestead Compliance for the Auditor’s office.

In other business, the Council passed a resolution expressing interest in the the County’s purchase of property just north of the new Government Center.  Daviess County’s attorney, Grant Swartzentruber, told the Council that this was part of the process.  The Commissioners have already voted to move forward with the purchase.  Mike Schapker, owner’s representative for the Government Center construction, told the Council that the purchase was a strategic move, since there would be a need for maintenance storage for the Courthouse complex.
