The Daviess County Commissioners issued a burn ban for Daviess County Monday.  The ban was issued at the request of area fire departments.  The ban is in effect until next Tuesday the 15th.

Under the ban, no open burning of debris, timber, construction waste, leaves or vegetation is permitted.  Campfires are allowed in burn rings of 23 inches in diameter and 10 inches high or higher.  Burn barrels are allowed if a wire mesh cover is used with no larger than a quarter inch opening.  Gas and charcoal grills are allowed and charcoal must be fully put out upon completion.

Burn bans also remain in effect for Martin, Dubois, Pike and Gibson Counties.
