The Daviess County Forfeiture Fund, money confiscated in a drug raid, will pay for new body cameras for the Washington Police Department.

Reporter Mike Grant in today’s  Washington Times Herald newspaper writes that over $19,700 will be used to help buy the cameras.  The cameras will replace a system already in place. The new system will include a phone app for officers to review video on their smartphones.  There’s also IT help available anytime with the new system.

The new cameras should arrive in about six weeks.
