LaVerne H. Welp, 80 passed away at 9:42 pm on September 29, 2019 at The Villages of Oak Ridge. LaVerne was born on March 27, 1939 the daughter of Edward and Leona (Lampert) Fleck. She married Eugene “Gene” Welp on June 12, 1958 and he preceded her in death on April 11, 2017.
LaVerne owned and operated Washington Auto Trim with her husband Gene and son Keith for several years. LaVerne was also a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Montgomery and active with Psi Iota Xi and Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include her daughter, Sheri Fields and her husband Rocky of Washington; son, Keith Welp and his wife Mitzi of Washington; sisters, Brenda Mason and her husband Lance of Indianapolis, Cynthia Schum and her husband Larry of Cornville, AZ; brother, Mel Fleck of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Brittany Bean and her husband Luke, Brittany Derr and her husband Chris, Todd Clark and his wife Paige, Luke Fields, Emily Fields, Mikel Alcantar, Maria Alcantar and seven great grandchildren. LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene, grandson, Ryan Welp, sister Dianne Fleck, brother Larry Fleck.
Friends may visit with LaVerne’s family on Friday, October 4, 2019 from 5-7 pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St. A private burial will take place Saturday and Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to assist the Welp family with arrangements.
