Convicted murderer may get a new trial

The man convicted of murdering I-U student Jill Behrman could get a new trial. A federal judge in Indianapolis has ruled that the representation John Myers got from his lawyer was so ineffective that the conviction cannot be allowed to stand. It’s up to the Morgan County Prosecutor’s office to decide whether to hold that new trial. Carmel attorney Guy Relford, the “Gun Guy”, specializes in gun rights law. But he tells 93 WIBC’s Hammer and Nigel that ANY lawyer would defend the constitutional protections that this case now represents. Although he–and the judge who issued the order–also acknowledge the cost of another trial to the state and to the victim’s family.
