Beverly Sue Hand, 80, passed away at 11:54 pm on September 30, 2019 in Washington, IN. Sue was born on January 20, 1939 in Pike County the daughter of Charles P. and Frona Esther (Quackenbush) McFarland. Sue married William O. “Bud” Hand on September 18, 1954 in a little white church in Southern Illinois and he preceded her in death on April 18, 2016.
Sue attended Petersburg Schools and was a member of Free Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Glendale Lodge Order of Eastern Star #461 where she had been past Matron and was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose. Sue also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed collecting antiques.
Survivors include her beloved family, son, Roger D. Hand and his wife Sandy of Washington; daughters, Lisa Hand of Washington, Holly Edwards and her husband Paul of Washington; brother, Charles McFarland of Petersburg; grandchildren, Amber Hand-Stillions and her husband Greg, Roger Allen Hand and his wife Courtney, William O. Edwards and his wife Elizabeth, Alixandra Edwards; and her great grandchildren, Dalelen Hand, Hadlee Hand, Jaxson Stillions and Leelen Hand. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bud Hand, brothers, David, Donald, Michael, Stephen and Alben McFarland, her sisters, Terri Lynn McFarland and Ruth Ann Fletcher and grandson, Vincent Edwards.
Friends may visit with Sue’s family from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St. Sue’s funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home and she will be laid to rest next to her husband Bud in Bethel Cemetery.
