Michael D. Cook, 71, passed away at 3:05 am on September 13, 2019 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Mike was born on August 23, 1948 in Daviess County the son of Russell and Mary L. (Small) Cook. Mike married Lynn Potts on June 5, 1971 and she preceded him in death on November 5, 2010.
Mike served his country in the United States Army and was an engineer for CSX Railroad for several years. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge and enjoyed meeting with his railroad retirement group every month at Ponderosa.
Survivors include his daughter, Cristina L. Stone and her husband Bret of Centerville, TN; brother, Steven Russell Cook of Wheatland; sister, Janice Martin and her husband Wayne of Indianapolis; and his grandchildren, Braden, Bella and Tasha Stone. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Lynn Cook.
Friends may visit with Mike’s family from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, IN. Mike’s funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home. Mike will be laid to rest in Sugarland Memory Gardens next to his wife Lynn.
