Michael J. Hunter,74, of Washington, Indiana passed away on September 9, 2019 at 1:52 am, at St. Vincent in Evansville, Indiana.
He was born on June 13,1945 to Charles and Dorothy (Gregory) Hunter in Washington, Indiana.
He married Louise (Wagler) Hunter on May 25,1974 and had two children, Ronald Hunter and Betty Mae (Hunter) Haas. He was a miner at United Mineral Coal Mine and retired in 2009. He was an avid Nascar fan and rarely missed a race. He enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts, the Chicago Cubs and old westerns. He enjoyed country music, fishing and boating on the river. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Mike is survived by his wife Louise, son Ronald (Michelle) and daughter Betty Mae. He has seven grandchildren, Zac, Ashley, Nicole, Colton, Hunter, Justin and Gracie and seven great- grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Sarah (Paul) Doyle and his sister-in-law, Peggy Hunter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Chic and Dorothy Hunter, brothers, Steve, Dave and Tim Hunter.
In accordance with Mike’s wishes there will be no formal service. The family will gather at a later date and time for a celebration of his life.
