Indiana State Police were searching in Oak Grove Cemetery in Washington yesterday.

The Washington Times Herald reports that officers were investigating a cold case from the 1980’s, however no other information on that case or if anything was found was released.

The newspaper reports the only cold case in the county from then is the 1988 discovery of Rebecca Murphy’s body. The 18 year old was found in her boyfriend’s home on Oak Grove Road and she had been tied to a bed, and was set on fire with the use of gasoline.  The boyfriend, 22 year old Steven Hendricks had disappeared.  Police think Hendricks was also a victim in the case and the WTH says police may have been looking for his body in the cemetery.  There were reports of a grave being dug in the rear of the cemetery at the time of the crime.

Again no other information has been released.
