Virginia P. “Ginnie” Kensek, 92, of Vincennes, passed away at 8:38 am Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital.
She was born on April 2, 1927 in Point Marion, PA, the daughter of Samuel and MaryBelle (Mitts) Wilson.
She was one of the first women insurance agents for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, and after a successful career in that industry she owned and operated Red Carpet Travel Agency in Vincennes and Washington.
Surviving are her daughter Victoria Ross and her husband Robert, her grandsons Michael and Stephen, all of Fort Wayne, IN and her nephew and niece John and MaryAnn Kensek of Plainville, IN.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Michael L. Kensek whom she wed on October 6, 1945 and preceded her in 2009; along with three brothers, Robert, Harry, and Ronald Wilson; along with a sister, Carrie Kensek.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home with Stacy Downing officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the start of the service.
