Pike Central School Corporation has partnered with Daviess Community Hospital to be the exclusive provider of athletic training services for their student athletes and sports teams.
Under the agreement, an athletic trainer from Daviess Community Hospital’s CORE Center will be onsite daily to provide medical care to Pike Central athletes and teams. This arrangement enables student-athletes to have maximum interaction with the athletic trainer whenever an injury or other medical concern arises. Athletic trainers are highly qualified, multi-skilled healthcare professionals who collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitation for injuries and medical conditions.
Working under the direction of a physician as prescribed by state licensure statutes, they are able to successfully take an athlete from point of injury through their return to play process. “Daviess Community Hospital is proud to provide unparalleled athletic training services to Pike Central,” says Scott Sell, DCH Director of Athletic Training. “The school’s commitment to ensuring the health and safety of its student athletes is second to none. We’re honored that the Pike Central athletic programs trust us to help keep their athletes healthy and safe; it’s something we’ll never take for granted.”
The agreement takes effect immediately. Daviess Community Hospital also provides exclusive athletic training services for Vincennes University, Barr-Reeve Schools, North Daviess Schools, and Washington Community Schools.
