Norman E. Dillon of Otwell, Indiana, passed away on July 20, 2019 at his home.  Norman was born at home near Otwell, Indiana on September 11, 1943 to Tony Dillon and Marjorie (DeMotte) (Breidenbaugh) Dillon in Pike County, IN.  He married Phyllis Ann Swain.

Norman attended Otwell school.  Norman loved his family, enjoyed classic country and bluegrass music, farming, western movies and shows, riding horses and competing in Team Penning and Team Sorting rodeo events. He especially loved spending each day with his absolute best friend and grandson, Logan Beau Dillon.  He worked at Jasper Table, in Jasper, Indiana.  Later, he worked as an Induction Welder at Whirlpool in Evansville, Indiana.

Norman chose to take an early retirement from Whirlpool in order to spend more time with his grandson, Logan Beau, before he started Kindergarten.  Norman attended the Otwell United Methodist Church as a child and the General Baptist Church in Petersburg.  Norman was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Sylvester Alexander “Sonny” Dillon, Ralph Dillon, James “Jim” Dillon, and Roger B. Dillon; sisters, Clarabelle (Dillon) Sheldon, Ninalea (Dillon) Lottes, and Virginia (Breidenbaugh) Traylor.  Norman leaves his loving wife, Phyllis Ann; his son, Norman Lee (Carrie Jean) Dillon of Otwell; his grandson, Logan Beau Dillon; sister Vivan (Dillon) Reed of Otwell;  brothers, Horace (Joyce) Dillon of Otwell; and Lowell Dillon of Huntingburg; cousins, numerous nieces and nephews, their children, and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pike County 4-H.   Please make checks payable to Pike County CES, and mail to: Purdue Ext. Office at 801 East Main St., Petersburg, IN 47567.   Visitation will be held at the Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, Indiana on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 4pm – 8pm.  A graveside service will be held for family on Friday morning at 9am at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg, Indiana.
