Mary Lou Yoder

Mary Lou Yoder, 88, of Washington, Indiana passed away on Thursday July 11, 2019 at Villages of Oak Ridge in Washington, Indiana.

She was born on May 28, 1931 in Daviess County to Herman and Agnes (Kauffman) Stoll. Mary Lou went to school at Sugarland and Washington High School.

Mary Lou (Stoll) married Loren Yoder on December 22, 1950 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 9 2003. She was a member of Providence Mennonite Church and following Jesus Christ was the directive of her life.

Mary Lou was a stay at home mom and helped her husband on the farm with raising their 2 sons, Randall and Cleo. Loren and Mary Lou worked part – time at Newton’s Processing south of Montgomery where a great friendship was built with Charlie and Nancy.

She loved to work with children helping in Missionary Cadets, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She also enjoyed cooking at Bible Memory Camp. For many years she had a quilt in the frame even in her later years.

Mary Lou also loved baking wedding cakes and other specialty cakes and blessing others in that way. She shared much love with their 2 sons, grandchildren, and great – grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren Yoder, one son Randall (Donna) Yoder of Jasper, IN, her parents; Herman and Agnes Stoll, a sister Martha Belle Burkholder and 3 brothers, Robert (Verda) Stoll, and William (Bonnie) Stoll, both of Montgomery, IN, and Jack (Judy) Stoll of South Bend, IN and 2 great- grandchildren, Tristan and Gabriel (Ryan) Yoder.

She is survived by one son, Cleo (Charlene) Yoder, of Wolford, ND, a daughter – in – law, Donna Yoder of Jasper, IN, her grandchildren; Ryan (Lisa) Yoder of Jasper, IN, Desiree Yoder of Jasper, IN, Chalon Yoder of Grandview, MO, Chet (Sherri) Yoder of Sacramento, CA, Carlon (Tanya) Yoder of Blumenort, Manitoba, Canada, 8 great- grandchildren, Wade Yoder (Ryan), Jadyn, Kiera, Mikias, and Tagese Yoder (Chet) and Clara, Avner and Cosette Yoder (Carlon), one sister Barbara Jean (Bert) Lengacher of Montgomery, IN, 2 brothers; Frank (Darlene) Stoll of Traverse City, MI, Cecil Dean of Milan TN, and sister – in – laws Bonnie (Bill) Stoll of Washington, IN, Bernice (Al) Erb of Beemer, NE, Vera Jane Yoder of Rugby, ND, Rachel (Ray) Yoder of Montgomery, IN, 2 brother – in- laws; Dewey (Carol) Yoder of Kirbyville, MO and Lyle Burkholder of Waynesboro, VA, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 12, 2019 from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M  and again on Saturday July 13 from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M in at Providence Mennonite Church in Montgomery.

A Graveside Burial will be held prior to the service on Saturday July 13, 2019 at 10:15 P.M in Providence Cemetery in Montgomery, In.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M on Saturday July13, 2019 at Providence Mennonite Church with Pastor Kevin Swartzentruber and Ken Bontreger to officiate.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Providence Mennonite Church or Bible Memory Ministries.
