An accident Wednesday morning resulted in serious injury to a moped rider on US 150 at the Boyd Hollow Road Intersection about 10:18-am.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office reports that 59-year-old Alan Stone of Shoals was south on 150 on a moped. 54-year-old Kevin Montgomery of Summerville was behind Stone in a 2011 Ford F-350 Truck and tried to pass. That’s when Stone started to turn his moped left onto Boyd Hollow Road. Stone was struck and thrown from the moped. He was taken by Martin County EMS to a landing zone in shoals and flown by Air Evac to Louisville.
The accident is still being investigated.
