Housing developer approaches city council

 The Washington City Council heard plans from a developer wanting to build workforce housing in Washington.  Pete Schwiegerath of MVAH Partners told the Council about plans to build a 50 unit 2, 3, and 4 bedroom townhouse complex on 4.3 acres on the southwest corner of West Fifth and Main Streets.   MVAH is asking to have the zoning of the area changed from Industrial to Commercial to accommodate multi-family residences.   The Council will consider the request at their next meeting

The Washington Parks and Rec Department has released their schedule for their upcoming 4th of July Celebration.  Washington Mayor Joe Wellman talked about it at last night’s city council meeting…

 Again events will be at East Side Park, July 2nd through the 4th.  That’s next Tuesday through Thursday.

 There’s carnival rides and concessions each night from  5 to 10 on Tuesday and Wednesday at 3 to 11 on Thursday the 4th.  Tuesday there’s Fireman’s Waterball at 6.  There’s live music each night starting at 7 Tuesday with Ricochet and Wednesday it’s the Mooncussers.  Thursday the 4th the live music starts at 4 with Terry Lee and then at 7:30 it’s Cody Ikerd and the Sidewinders.
