It’s Skin Cancer Awareness Month

       The Memorial Day weekend kicked off on Saturday with the opening of Water World of Washington for the season.

        Daviess Community Hospital was on hand with a donation of sun screen packets for visitors to the city’s splash and water park.

        May is National Skin Cancer/Melanoma Awareness Month. Skin cancer is one of the most common types of cancer, with over one million people diagnosed each year. Skin cancer has been on the rise and it is being diagnosed in much younger people. Many cases of skin cancer are preventable.  People just need to be more sun savvy and properly protect their bodies in order to prevent the disease
