Impaired driver arrested while transporting 15-month-old child

Pike County – Sunday evening at approximately 6:35, Trooper Hunter Manning was patrolling I-69 near the 40 mile-marker when he stopped the driver of a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu for driving 86 mph. When Trooper Manning approached the vehicle he detected the odor of raw marijuana. The female driver was identified as Taylor M. Merino, 22, of Henderson, KY. Elizabeth Stocker, 36, of Corydon, KY, was sitting in the back seat with her 15-month-old grandchild. Trooper Manning searched the vehicle and located methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Merino also displayed signs of being impaired, but she refused to submit to a chemical test. Merino and Stocker were arrested and taken to the Pike County Jail where they are currently being held on bond. The Department of Child Services took custody of the child.
