Loogootee and Vincennes Election Returns

         LOOGOOTEE RACES

       There were contested races on the Democrat ticket in Loogootee.

        Democrat Mayor Noel Harty was challenged by City Councilman Roger Downey. Harty won with 64% of the vote.

        In Council At-Large, where Downey currently serves, Ron Gilbert took that race with 53% over Rich Taylor.

        In Council District 2 the incumbent, Ruth Smith was defeated by challenger Tim Lawrence.  Lawrence finished with just over 52%

        Also, there was an upset in City Council District 4 as Council Member Collin Padget was defeated by challenger Donald Rick Norris. Norris won with 53% or 351 votes.  That was 31 more votes than Padget.

        No Republicans ran in yesterday’s elections in Loogootee and none are filed to run in November.

        There are over 2,000 registered voters in Loogootee, 702 turned out to vote in the 4 precincts which is nearly 35% voter turnout.

         VINCENNES RACE

         In Vincennes there was one Democrat City Council Race for District 1.

        50 people total voted in the 2 precincts.  Will Drews defeated opponent Eric Burke with a 62% margin or 31 to 19 votes.  Drews will face Republican incumbent Brian Grove in the fall.

        In Vincennes there was one Democrat City Council Race for District 1.

        50 people total voted in the 2 precincts.  Will Drews defeated opponent Eric Burke with a 62% margin or 31 to 19 votes.  Drews will face Republican incumbent Brian Grove in the fall.
