Janet Louise Emmick, 66, of Jasper, formerly of Washington, passed away at 11:25 am Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Cathedral Health Care Center in Jasper.
She was born December 6, 1952 in Washington, Indiana to Thurlow and Laura (Daffron) Ferguson.
Janet worked in management as she had worked at Marshall’s, 3D, East 50 Drive in Theatre, and Waffle House. She was a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church in Jasper, Rural Youth, and Delta Theta Tau. Her favorite pastimes were sewing, flower arranging, and crocheting.
Surviving are her sisters, Nancy Hotz and her husband Terry of Jasper, and Marsha Pride of Washington; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doug Emmick whom she married on December 10, 1977 and preceded her on June 2, 2015; a sister, Shirley Fischer; and her half siblings, Carol Couts, Lucille Armstrong, Violet Earls, Eddie Ferguson, and Virgil Ferguson.
A Celebration of Janet’s Life will be at 1:00 Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State, Washington. Visitation will be from 11:00 to 1:00 pm. Burial will be private.
