Gary R. Long, 65, of Washington, Indiana, went to heaven at his home on May 4, 2019.
He was born April 13, 1954 to William “Bill” and Pauline (McCracken) Long.
Gary was a member of the New Hope Christian Church and an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, camping, and being around his grandchildren.
Gary’s family left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Peggy (Arthur) Long, whom he married on October 22, 1976; his mother Pauline Long of Washington; his son, Tyson Long and his wife Jennifer of Lizton; two daughters, Tana Lengacher and her husband Brian of Odon, Tia Long of Odon; his two grandsons, William and Lucas Long; and a sister Debbie Waggoner of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A Celebration of Gary’s Life will be held at 6 pm on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at the New Hope Christian Church with Rev. Joe Coquillard officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until the start of the service time. Burial will be private. The family requests no flowers be sent as they prefer memorial contributions directed to the New Hope Christian Church. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Gary Long.
