David Ray Fletcher, 67, of Washington, Indiana, passed away May 2, 2019, in Washington.
Born March 5, 1952, in Louisville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Harry L. and Josephine (Ray) Fletcher.
He graduated from Charlestown, Indiana, High School in 1970. He then attended Tennessee Tech, and IU South in Jeffersonville, Indiana. On March 3, 1974, he married Melinda (Fern).
David worked as a truck driver for over 38 years, retiring in 2018. He enjoyed singing and playing gospel and bluegrass music. He was of Methodist faith.
David is survived by his wife, Melinda; two sons, Nathan Edwin (Laura) Fletcher and Joel Arthur (Sherri) Fletcher; a daughter, Grace Louise (Scott) Davidson; three grandchildren, Wilson Ray Fletcher, Vallerie Daisy Ruth Fletcher and Tyler Manual Davidson; a sister, Rebecca Young Thurman; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for David, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2019, in Gill Funeral Home, with Rev. Chris Byars officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project.
