VP Pence speaks in DC on National Day of Prayer

-Vice Pres. Mike Pence condemned recent attacks on people of faith at a ceremony for the National Day of Prayer, Thursday at the White House.

“As Americans we mourn with those who mourn and grieve with those who grieve. And, we condemn these attacks in the strongest possible terms,” said Pence. “No one should ever fear for their safety in a house of worship or anywhere in the world.”

Pence said he plans to visit some historically black churches that were burned in Louisiana. He also condemned the attacks on a mosque and its attendees in New Zealand.

“We live in a time when we have witnessed unspeakable attacks on people of faith, at a synagogue in California just a few short days ago,” he said. “We believe we always do well to go to the Lord in prayer. But, it seems especially important these days.”
