A Washington man has been charged for Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon and Possession of a Handgun without a license.
Washington Police responded to a Breaking and Entering in progress call at 7:45 last night at a home on East Hefron. Officers saw a vehicle leaving the area and stopped it for a traffic infraction. That’s when the police located a loaded .40 caliber Glock handgun. The driver, 37-year-old John Wilkerson was found to be wanted on an Illinois warrant for Possession of Meth. He was arrested on the weapons charges and the warrant and was also charged with Driving While Suspended with a Prior.
