Thomas Buzan, 89, of Loogootee, passed away at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at his home.

He was born September 16, 1929 in Montgomery, Indiana to the late Eslie and Marie (Hawkins) Buzan.

Tom married Doris (Crouse) Buzan April 3rd, 1949 and she survives.

He was a member of the Union 324 Operating Engineers and the Kaiser Car Club. He was a past member of Raisinville Baptist Church in Monroe, Michigan and a present member of Truelove United Methodist Church.

Tom was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed deer hunting, morel mushroom hunting and fishing. He enjoyed gardening and staying active on his Kubota tractor. He loved restoring cars and traveling with his wife to many classic car shows. Tom liked to watch and collect western memorabilia and he enjoyed listening to gospel and country music. His most treasured times were spent with his family reminiscing and telling stories.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eslie E. and Marie (Hawkins) Buzan; grandson, Kory Buzan and great-grandchildren, Jordan and Sydney Pitock; sister, Gladys Bell Brown.

Tom is survived by his wife, Doris (Crouse) Buzan of Loogootee; children, Donna Kay Buzan of Kansas City, Missouri, Donald “Doc” Buzan of Loogootee, Thomas “J.J.” (Jamie) Buzan of Denver, Colorado, Tim (Donna) Buzan of Blue Springs, Missouri and Kimberly (Barry) Sell of Monroe, Michigan; grandchildren, Ryan Buzan, Tammy (Jim) Spaulding, Angie (Charles) Pope, Paul (Jinah) Buzan, Sandra (Nathan) Watson, Micah Buzan, Samaelle Buzan, Shaylee Buzan, Eli Buzan, Heather (Eric) Vermett and Arika (Mark) Kotila; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ruby Dicks, Laura Miller and Elsie Elliott.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Truelove United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 29, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
