Charles J. Woolard, 95 of Vincennes passed away at 11:08 am on March 11, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born August 14, 1923 in Owen County, the son of Rex and Edna (Deem) Woolard. He married Frances Query February 15, 1947 and she survives.
Charles served his country in the US Navy from 1944 until 1946 on the LST 802 in the South Pacific. He retired from Indiana Bell after thirty- two ½ years.
Charles is survived by his wife of seventy- two years Frances; daughter, Sandra Truex and her husband Steve; son, Dustin Woolard and his wife Margo; grandchildren, Jason Woolard, Janet Woolard, Jadean Neireiter, Thomas Truex and Michael Truex; along with seven great grandchildren and three sister-in-law’s Carol, Patty and Jeweldeen. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Glenda and Wilma and his brothers, Glen, Gordon and Jack.
Charles’ funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on March 18, 2019 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway with Rev. Walker Hatton officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until the hour of service time of 3:00 pm at the funeral home on Monday. Charles will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery.
