Daviess Community Hospital CEO Keith Miller gave an update to the county commissioners Tuesday  on progress in the changeover of the County’s ambulance providers.

Southwest Medical owners Wayne and Joan Scheutz  are retiring and notified the County they would not bid to renew their contract.  Looking at a change-over, the Commissioners awarded the contract for ambulance service to Daviess Community Hospital.

Commissioner Nathan Gabhart said the County’s goal is to have 4 staffed ambulances in service versus the 3 1/2 currently on call he says.     Gabhart also said that in co-ordination with the Scheutzs’ and Southwest Medical, the changeover of service might begin mid-year.
