Indy airport continues to grow

The airline industry is growing fast in the capital city, where Indianapolis International Airport set a record last year with more than 9.4-million passengers flying out of Indy. That was an increase of more than 620-thousand over 2017. A healthy economy and a “very, very aggressive air service marketing campaign” get the credit from the executive director of the Airport Authority, Mario Rodriguez. Non-stop flights were added to Charleston, Oakland, Sarasota/Bradenton and Paris. That flight to the French capital provides a critical connection to Europe. And Rodriguez says low-fare airlines are “democratizing the way people travel” with flights to popular destinations.
