Laura E. Wathen, 79, of Loogootee, passed away on Sunday February 17, 2019 at 4:10 A.M at Loogootee Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on March 17, 1939 to the late Charles Eugene and Goldie Mae (Dillon) Fields.
Laura was a member of the Catholic Faith, she was always caring and willing to lend a helping hand. She loved to work in her flower beds, quilt, and bake pies for friends and family.
Laura is preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Wathen, her parents, Charles Eugene Fields, and Goldie Mae (Fields) Fox, and one brother Buddy Fields.
She is survived by her children; Mary Alice (John) Wessner, Bill Wathen, Robert (Mary Ann) Wathen, 4 grandchildren, several great- grandchildren, her brothers; Jack Fields, Eddie Fields, Charles Fields, Delbert Fields, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday February 22, 2019 at 11:00 A.M celebrated by the Very Rev. J Kenneth Walker at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee, friends may visit from 9:30 A.M until the time of service at the Church. Graveside services will be held inside the church.
