Robert Scott Waggner, 63, of Loogootee, IN passed away on Saturday February 9, 2019 at the Villages at Oak Ridge in Washington, Indiana.

He was born on October 29, 1955 in Daviess County to the late Bob and Margie (Cissell) Waggner.

Scott was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee and the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid sports fan, loved The Loogootee Lions, St. Louis Cardinals and attending the Indianapolis 500. Scott worked as a Director of Radiology at IU Health Bedford Hospital.

He contributed to the book “History of Loogootee High School Boys Basketball 1905 – 2008”,  Loogootee Basketball History Facebook Page, and the “Hickory Huskers Website”. Scott was known as a “History of Indiana Basketball Encyclopedia” with his keen memory. He could recite game statistics and play by plays from years past.

He was a great story teller and loved to spend time with his nieces and nephews and watch them play and continue to grow in their athletics.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Margie Waggner.

He is survived by his siblings; Pam Fellers, Jan Waggner, Kim Fouty, his nieces and nephews; Nathan Waggner, Sara Lemon, Will Fouty, his great- nieces and nephews, Isabelle Waggner, Isaac Waggner, Madison Waggner, Koen Waggner, Emsley Waggner, Ellington Waggner, and close friends of the family, Van and Jolene McAtee.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 A.M on Friday February 15, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Loogootee.

Visitation will be held on Thursday February 14, 2019 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 P.M at Blake Funeral Home with a Rosary Service to follow.

In Lieu of flowers, friends can contribute to an Athletic Scholarship to be made in Scott’s honor in the future.
