Indiana Workforce Update

Over the past few years, the Indiana General Assemblyhas passed various initiatives aimed at improving our state’s workforce. It is crucial that we prepare our next generation to succeed in Indiana’s future workforce, and we are already seeing returns on our efforts.

Since the launch of the Next Level Jobs Program, we have seen more and more Hoosiers enroll in high-value certificate programs, and completion rates have consistently risen.

In 2018 alone, Indiana has accomplished the following:

  • Over 28,000 unique leads routed to Ivy Tech, Vincennes University and WorkOne;
  • Over 10,000 enrollments in Workforce Ready Grant programs; and
  • Over 3,900 certificates or certifications earned in Workforce Ready Grant programs.

As your state senator, I will continue to work with the governor and my fellow lawmakers to create and pass legislation that benefits Hoosiers as they enter the workforce.

Take My Legislative Survey

Today is the last day to take my 2019 legislative survey. I encourage constituents of Senate District 39 to complete the survey to share their thoughts with me on topics and issues facing our state, as I use the survey responses to make decisions on legislation as it moves through the process.

You can complete my 2019 legislative survey here.
