Compton is Promoted to Sergeant at Evansville District

Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas Carter has promoted Trooper Kylen Compton to the rank of Sergeant to serve as a District Squad Leader at the Evansville District.

Compton is a native of Griffin and a 1999 graduate of North Posey High School. He later attended Purdue University and graduated in 2003 after receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology.

Compton graduated from the Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in 2004 and was originally assigned to the Jasper District where he primarily patrolled Perry and Spencer Counties. He transferred to Evansville in July 2006 and primarily patrolled Gibson and Posey Counties. Compton is also a member of the Tactical Intervention Platoon, a Control Tactics Instructor, a Crash Reconstructionist and a Field Training Officer. Compton, a 14-year-vetern, will supervise troopers in Pike and Gibson Counties.

Sergeant Compton and his wife, Amy, reside in Posey County with their nine and seven-year-old sons.
