Traveling remains tricky

           The snow and ice will continue to be with us for a bit as temperatures today will only get to the low 20’s. A chance of precipitation and breezy conditions are expected to return tomorrow afternoon.

        The Indiana Department of Homeland Security’s Travel Status Map has Daviess and Knox Counties under a Travel Watch meaning only essential travel, like to and from work or emergency situations is recommended.  Pike County is under a Travel Advisory which means use extra caution when driving due to the conditions.

        Main highways are clear with scattered snow and ice.  Most secondary roads and side streets have been plowed and are passable but remain slick.

        INDOT Commissioner Joe McGuiness commented over the weekend that crews were working 12 hour shifts in all 92 Indiana counties in the cold temps…

        Again, allow extra time to get where you are going and reduce your speed and leave plenty of room between you and other vehicles.
