Ada Lenore Brochin Billings

Ada Lenore Brochin Billings, age 96, of Washington, passed away at 3:40 PM on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Washington Nursing Center.

She was born on August 29, 1922 in Washington, Indiana. Her parents were Henry Brochin and Maude (Ulrich) Brochin. Ada married Noble F. Billings on January 22, 1943 at Logan Heights Chapel in Fort Bliss, Texas, where he was stationed before being deployed to North Africa and the European Theatre of World War II.

During the war, Ada worked as a nurse’s aide for Indiana Citizens Defense Corps in Washington, Indiana. She wrote to Noble every day that he was overseas until his discharge in October of 1945.

Ada and Noble were the parents of three children; David (Gail) Billings of West Lafayette, Barbara (Vic Savia) Billings of Washington, and Mark (Karla) Billings of Columbus, Indiana; eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.

Ada was preceded in death by her husband, Noble in 2010; brothers, Harold Brochin, Robert Brochin, and Carl Brochin; and sisters, Norma Allen and Virginia McPike.

Her funeral services will be held 11:30 AM on Monday at Ed Lee Mortuary Downtown Chapel with Dr. Byron Holtsclaw officiating. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:30 AM till 11:30 AM on Monday at Ed Lee Mortuary Downtown Chapel.
