With the swearing-in of James McDonald as the City’s newest officer, Washington’s Police Department is back to full force. McDonald was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado, but came to Washington from Scottsdale, Arizona. McDonald says he sees Washington as a good place to raise his children and follow his dream of becoming a police officer. Washington’s newest officer has family in the local area. His grandmother lives in Elnora, and other family members live in Odon and Loogootee. McDonald has studied Criminal Justice and is about to receive his degree in Administration of Justice. Officer McDonald says he appreciates the warm welcome and looks forward to serving the community to the best of his ability.
