Esther M. Singleton, age 102, a resident of Washington, Indiana, passed away on January 5, 2019 in Washington; IN. Esther was born in Daviess County Indiana on October 15, 1916 to the late Luther and Lusta (Davis) Potts, and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. Esther married Charles Singleton on June 30, 1939, and he preceded her in death on May 5, 1991. Out of this union was born Patricia Singleton (John Kot), William (Bill) Singleton (Nancy), Ralph Singleton (Sherida), Michael Singleton (Judy) and Paul Singleton (Pat).

Esther was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a member of Central Christian Church, Washington, IN.  Esther is survived by sons Bill, Mike and Paul, 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Esther was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Singleton Kot and son Ralph Singleton, two (2) brothers: Russell Potts, Thomas Paul Potts, and two (2) sisters: Wilma Brown and Katy McMahan.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Ed Lee Mortuary Downtown Chapel. Reverend Jessica Singleton, granddaughter of Esther Singleton, will officiate. Friends may call Saturday at Ed Lee Mortuary Downtown Chapel from 11:00 a.m. to the time of service. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery (Reeve Township).

The family of Esther Singleton wishes to thank Dr. Coulter, the staff of the Emerald Place, and Helping Hearts Hospice for their care of Esther these past several years. Memorial contributions may be made to Visually Impaired Preschool Services, 1100 West 42nd St., Suite 228, Indianapolis, Indiana 46208. Esther lost most of her vision due to macular degeneration. VIPS is dedicated to helping visually impaired preschoolers. Arrangements entrusted to Ed Lee Mortuary.
