Two facing neglect charges

investigation-1-7

More details have surfaced concerning two arrests reported last weekend on WAMW.

Travis Criswell and Britanie Morford both 27 and both of Washington were jailed about a week ago.

The charges against them  stemmed from a December 7th investigation that began when a DCS worker was called to a house in Washington.  The worker called police for assistance.

When Travis Criswell answered the door, police say they could smell a strong odor of burnt marijuana. Morford was also in the house with her two children ages 2 and 3.

Court documents described both kids as extremely dirty, soaked in urine, and having purple feet because the temperature in the house was so cold.  The children were taken to Daviess Community Hospital, where a doctor found second degree burns on the two-year-old boy.

Criswell and Morford were charged with Neglect of a Dependent which involved  Serious Bodily Injury.
