Marie M. Junkin, 93, of Vincennes, passed away at 3:29 pm Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital.
She was born on July 4, 1925 in Shoals, Indiana to James and Mary (Winengar) Nicholson.
Marie worked for 20 years at Willow Manor as a Nurses Aide and enjoyed dancing and country Music.
Surviving are her children, Phyllis Rains and her husband, Ken of Lafayette, Barbara Melton and her husband, Bud, of Annapolis, IL, Shirley Groves of Vincennes, Diane Tweedy and her husband Rual Clifton, Doris Anderson of Vincennes, Roger Junkin and his wife, Connie of Jasper, Samuel Junkin of Vincennes, and Terry Junkin of Vincennes; a brother Samuel Nicholson of Brownstown, along with 18 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John B. Junkin; along with three sisters, and two brothers; and a son in law, Wayne Groves.
Funeral services will be held a 2:00 pm Wednesday December 26, 2018 at Gardner Brockman Funeral Home with visitation from 11:00 am until the service. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lodge of the Wabash or the Alzheimer’s Association. Gardner Brockman Funeral Home is proud to serve the family of Marie Junkin.
