Ralph Bechtel, 92, of Plainville, IN passed away December 13, 2018 in Washington. He was born August 3, 1926 in Bicknell, IN to the late Edward and Fern (Bowers) Bechtel. Ralph was a WWII Army Veteran and worked at NAD Crane/ CAAA, retiring in May 1985. He was a member of the American Legion. He  enjoyed spending time with his Family, working in the yard, playing Golf, as well as, the St. Louis Cardinals, and IU Basketball . He served in WWII as a Staff Sgt. in the 84th Infantry Division throughout Europe and Germany.  He received the Victory Medal. Two oversees Service Bars, the Germany Good Conduct medal, the Army of Occupation Medal, and the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon w/ One Bronze Star.

He is survived by Daughter; Darla Trueblood of Plainville, Sons: Rick Bechtel (Cindy) of Edinburgh and Craig Bechtel (Leanna) of Jasper. 3 Grandchildren and 4 Great grandchildren.   Sisters; Barbara Miller, Odon.  Shirley Hardy, and Beverly Taylor, both of Bloomington, Dot  Doyle (Tom), Washington, Violet Arthur (Gene) Bloomfield, Alice Witsman (Gary) Elnora, Wilma Harp (Hal) of Worthington.  He was preceded in death by his Wife Felba and 2 sisters; Virginia Hardy and Mary Grove, and one Brother Rex Bechtel.  Friends may call from 4 to 8pm Sunday December 16, 2018 for visitation at Gill Funeral Home in Washington.  Funeral services will be Monday, December 17, 2018 at 2:30 at the funeral home with Pastor Denny Spinner Officiating, Burial will follow in Plainville Cemetery.
