– State Sen. Eric Bassler (R-Washington) has been appointed by Senate President Pro Tem Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) to chair the Senate Committee on Insurance and Financial Institutions as well as the School Funding Subcommittee for the 121st Indiana General Assembly.
“I’m grateful to be serving as chair of the Senate Committee on Insurance and Financial Institutions,” Bassler said. “Through this committee and others I am serving on, I hope to bring forward the concerns of our community and create and support legislation that positively impacts the state of Indiana.”
Bassler will also serve as ranking member of the Senate Committee on Appropriations.

The 2019 legislative session ceremonially began Tuesday, Nov. 20, with Organization Day. Legislators will reconvene Jan. 3 and, by law, must conclude the legislative session no later than April 29.
