Robert Eugene DeVore, age 76, of Washington, passed away Thursday afternoon, December 6, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.
He was born April 30, 1942, in Flora, IL, to the late Robert “Bob” James and Velma Helen “Dude” (Ruger) DeVore. Bob married Diana Jane Daugherty on December 22, 1960, and they shared 34 years of marriage prior to her death in 1995.
He was a retired conductor from the B&O and CSX Railroads, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a Master Mason and Shriner. He was a member of Fountain of Life United Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by 2 daughters: Monica (husband Alan) Hunsinger of Washington, and Becky (husband Barry) Welch of Rochester, IL; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson.
A funeral ceremony will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora, IL. Interment will follow in Red Brush Cemetery, Louisville, IL, with the presentation of military funeral honors. Visitation is 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
